In case you missed it, we're running a summer campaign, which is exciting news if you’re considering buying a Dela switch before the 30th September. The promotion gives anyone buying any current-model Dela switch the chance to receive a free ADOT SFP converter to help elevate their new Dela product even further.
Traditionally, you would supply an internet feed to your Dela server, hopefully via a Dela network switch, via an Ethernet cable. Unfortunately, even the best Ethernet cables can pick up noise from airborne sources, such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, radio waves and even spurious noise from nearby mains sources and cables. Indeed, even HiFi and AV components themselves emit airborne noise that, if it reaches your Ethernet cable, can potentially disrupt the data stream, causing jitter and reducing performance.
Our ADOT MC series converts the Ethernet signal into an optical signal, which is immune to airborne interference and allows bit-perfect data transmission. Optical transmission also breaks the ground loop, removing another potential noise source.
Thankfully, getting the benefit of ADOT isolation is very simple. You plug the converter into its power supply: for the MC01 or MC02, it's a plug-top PSU; for the MC03, it's a PliXir Linear PSU. The SFP cables come with a pair of modules to match the supplied cable; one plugs into the ADOT, and the other into your SFP-compatible switch or server.
You can choose between multi-mode and single-mode SFP cables. Single-mode cable can provide better performance, but it is sensitive to bends in the cable run. So if your setup requires a significant bend, the multi-mode cable will be more reliable.
If you are considering buying a Dela server or a D100 CD ripping drive/player, watch out for our generous summer offers on those. So, contact your local Dela dealer without delay
